Living Room / 2011 / Performance and sculptures in collaboration with Eta Demby / Presented at the performance series LIKE at Vogt Gallery, New York City (USA)
We crafted abstract and suggestive objects made of living room materials like molding, paneled doors, chairs, lamps, and rugs. These objects became the props and tools for an intuitive performance. The living room was historically a space designated for leisure; a room for entertaining oneself and others; a formal space for performing “living” unburdened by the necessities of life. We returned to the childhood pleasures of play, reconstructing the room into alternate universes, acting and reacting to each other’s presence.
