Studio Conversations / 2011 / Studio practice in Brooklyn, NY (USA)
The studio served as a space for invited private object conversations and experiments. These were sometimes recorded but most often just happened. Because we were in private, we became our own audience and a certain intimacy emerged. From person to person, rules and structures were dissolved or upheld in varying degrees. With each, the language born drastically differed and revealed the character of our relationship or the mood of our engagement. We sometimes made things, but most of the time we spoke by the action of placement. Following each conversation we sat and reflected on the experience, often eating a slice of pie at the nearby cafe.
