Spatula Book (Gift for Stephen), 2011-2012
Children's book and furniture fragment

This was given to artist Stephen Wuensch as a gift in a secret santa exchange. With the object, a simple instruction was given; He should decide how the object will be composed and arranged whenever it is shown, publicly or privately.

The object was first shown at the Brucennial 2012 in New York City. It was placed as if it was swimming through the woodgrain sea.

As part of his blog series, "Always be an Emerging Artist", Daniel Galas interviewed the object with Wuensch outside a hamburger restaurant in upstate New York.

Who knows how the object is arranged now?
Maybe Stephen's son Harrison flipped it into a waving balloon,
or maybe it's an architectural model of an art nowadays museum.
